Throughout the course of the year, the North West Section arranges a wide range of runs for members who can take part if they turn up on an eligible motorcycle (25 years old plus). The runs go far and wide and range from gentle evening runs, to full days of classic and vintage bike riding around some of the best roads and scenery the region has to offer. Any VMCC member can take part in our runs, so go to the Events calendar to find out when the next one will be rolling out.
On this page you can see photos and video clips of some of our runs and day trips
The first run of the season got off to a good start with plenty of participants and a very good selection of bikes from early 1910 to 1980. The run set off at 10.30 with about 25 having lunch at Bispham. The afternoon run ended in Banks with a visit to Derek Christian’s. Thanks to Bill Dyke and Dave Hodge for organising the routes. Check out the photo gallery for pictures and videos of the day.

National Motorcycle Museum Trip -
On Sunday the 12th of May we had our coach trip to the National Motorcycle Museum. The day started at 08.30 with the first pickup in Maghull, and then on to The Barons for the rest of us, 42 in all and no late comers. To save time I collected the entrance fee to the Museum on the coach to the delight of the chap at the Museum's pay desk.
For myself and a number of others it was our first visit, although some had been several times before, but what a place!! You have heard the saying wall to wall carpet, well the Museum is wall to wall British motorcycles of every make and model you could think of, and more besides. It is impossible to see it all in the one day so I am going to suggest we make this an annual pilgrimage. On the way home we raffled a bottle of Gin very kindly donated by Colin Hornby for our communication fund, and the winner was Rod Smith who said "that's the wife's Christmas present sorted". I hope you all had as good a time as I did.
If there is somewhere you think our members would like to visit please let me know and I will try to organise it.

Alan and Jean’s Evening Run -
About 13 of us had a little jolly boys run out from the Barons, we covered about 20 miles mostly down back roads as far out as Aughton, the weather was very kind to us.

Holmeswood Run -
This year we did the N/West Sections Chairman's run in brilliant sunshine. The weather was perfect for motorcycling and we finished our run trouble free. The run started from our clubhouse in Burscough and we were joined by Graeme from Central Lancs Section and their Chairman Steve who couldn't go on the run but rode down to wave us off. This year we did a sixty five mile run into sunny Wales to the Llangollen Motor Museum where our colleagues the Cheshire and North Wales Section were holding a Barbeque. We were also joined by a few of our members enroute which made a total of fifteen from our Section. The run was trouble free and the roads into Wales have some of the most stunning landscapes in these fair isles of ours. On arrival we met up with our colleagues from the Cheshire cats and several other Sections. Its always a pleasure to see old friends and catch up with any news or gossip that we can. The C& N/W laid on a spectacular BBQ and

its takes some beating on a lovely day with good company. Also a look around the Museum makes it a full day. Thanks to the Cheshire guys for as always making us welcome and for my fellow Section members for their good company and sharing the day.
